Melba Shed Newsletters 

Google Docs files may not be accessible from Internet Explorer version 8 (IE8). To fix this issue read this short guide to allow IE8 to access Google Docs. This is required to view newsletters, walks maps, walks GPS file etc on line with IE8. There are no issues using Firefox or Google Chrome browsers

Newsletters put out by the Shed and various other Sheds' Newsletters. Melba Shed newsletters commenced in September 2009. Note on 23rd September 2011 we reached 100 newsletters.

All the newsletters are in adobe pdf format.

Download Newsletters from the following Google docs folders. Click on the relevant newsletter and it will open from within Google Docs. You can then also select to download it if desired

Newsletter 102 7 Oct 2011 Writeup on last weeks BBQ and various issues discussed including Trevor Oddy, for his talk to us on how to plan the optimal siting and orientation of houses to take advantage of the Sun's position Trevor explained the movement of the Sun according to the seasons and the impact that has on thermal conditions in poorly planned dwellings. Trevor was able to give us some practical tips e.g. siting garages at the western end of houses such that their walls absorb the impact of the westerly sun, keeping the house cooler.
