Advice on maximising discount on the Woolworths Everyday Rewards Cards? In our Newsletter No 85 of 10th June 2011 it was advised how to maximise the availability of higher petrol discounts. Here is the advice reprinted. By the way! It does work!

"Do you and your partner have linked Woolworths Everyday Rewards Cards? Well, if you do, here's a clue that may help you achieve 9, 12 or 15 cents discount on up to 150 litres of fuel from a Woollies/Caltex service station." For about a month, only use one of your two linked cards. Shortly thereafter the owner of the unused card will get an email saying something like: 'We haven't seen you in a while, and you're a valued customer. To welcome you back, here's a great offer when you shop at Woolworths. Remember to activate this offer before you shop.' You'll have to click on the 'Activate' message and then use the 'unused' card for a single purchase of at least a specified value (usually $30 - $150) and you'll be credited with the promised fuel voucher within 7 days. Remember, you heard it here! And it works, time and time again!"

The End of the World as we Know It. Forget man-made threats – the catalyst for the apocalypse will come from outer space, warns astronomer Chris Impey. An article by Impey was published in the Weekend Australian Magazine of 3-4 July 2010. Now you can read the article in the UK Independent. In this article he describes how the sun will, as part of its life cycle, expand and eventually burn up the earth in about 7.5 Billion years. Unfortunately in 500 Million years or so the heat from the sun will be so hot that life on earth will become impossible. Its the ultimate global warming. No a carbon tax will not save us! Its the ultimate irony. This is scary stuff!

Best e-readers in Australia from CNet Australia. Also their Ebooks and e-readers: FAQ is useful. However to say that e-readers can break but not books is denying the obvious that books can be damaged, get wet and wear out. Also saying you can't share ebooks is not exactly correct. However to be fair there are some limitations with ebooks, especially with colour and writting notes on the page.
